Game Name: Metal Slug 7
Creator: SNK Playmore and published by Ignition Entertainment
Supported Systems: Nintendo DS
Release date: Nov. 28. 2008
The metal slug team is back at chasing the corrupt General Morden. This time, he is visited by an army transported from the future willing to serve him, so u must now face the force of Morden in addition to a technology advanced army. You have the choice between six characters: Marco, the heavy shooter - Tarma, the tank specialist - Eri, the technical grenade thrower - Flo, the ammo carrier - Ralf, the fists of steel - and Clark, the throwing maniac.
Pros:
Intensity
Don't be surprised if u die in the first round (even on easy mode). There will be bullets flying everywhere so fast, you won't see what killed you before its too late.
Replay Value
This game will get its claws into you the first time around. The experience will urge you to play this game over and over again.
Triumphant
The bosses in this game will seem to take an eternity in order to defeat, but when you do, an incredible sense of relief and euphoria will wash over you.
Combat School
If u wish to get better and for even more experience, the combat school is a new addition that will satisfy. You will replay the missions from story mode, but with extra side missions, such as rescuing as much POWs as possible. With each completed mission, you gain points and with enough points, you can move up the ranks.
Weapons and Slugs
There are a large collection of various ammo in this game to destroy your enemy forces. The classic handgun is back as the default weapon (the machine gun is the default weapon on Easy Mode) along with some classic weapons (such as the Heavy Machine Gun and Rocket Launcher) and new weapons (such as the armor piercing Thunder Shot). There is also the additions of metallic tanks called Metal Slugs in the game. There is a slug in each level with which to pulverize those that oppose you.
Cons:
Graphics
If u ever played a metal slug game, you would know that graphics is not the most important factor. The graphics aren't horrible, but theyre not awe inspiring either.
One Hit Kill
There is no health bar, it takes only one hit to kill you, and dieing is what you will be doing a lot in this game. But that is what makes this game very intense.
Difficulty
This game is very challenging. You may soon encounter some anger screams and hair pulling. Easy mode will seem too easy, and medium mode will seem too hard. Have i mentioned theres a hard mode as well? But the challenge is what so inviting about this game, and you may find yourself redoing the same mission over and over again.
No Multiplayer
This made me cry (figuratively). What made past Metal Slug games exceptionally fun is playing with a friend to complete a hard task or to compete to see who gets more points. The lack of multiplayer is, in my opinion, the biggest let down.
Definetely a very great game for the Nintendo DS. If you need a new DS game, get this one. If youre not to sure, rent it. If youre a metal slug fan, why havnt you gotten this one yet? If your a shooter, a hardcore gamer, or a harcore shooter gamer, check this one out.
